We are pleased to announce the launch of the Calls for Proposals for the latest BIOPAMA Action Component grants.

Protected and conserved areas and the landscapes within which they are located have a central role to play in preserving the biodiversity and ecosystem services that the majority of rural communities depend on for sustainable livelihoods. BIOPAMA aims to improve the long-term conservation, sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystem services in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, in protected and conserved areas and surrounding communities.

The BIOPAMA Action Component provides funding opportunities to address protected and conserved areas, sustainable use of biodiversity, natural resources priorities for actions on the ground in African, Caribbean and the Pacific countries.

Priority driven, the objective of BIOPAMA Action Component is to improve biodiversity conservation in priority areas through funding tangible on the ground actions. From knowledge to action, the BIOPAMA Action Component is addressing key management and governance issues identified by diagnostic tools. Co-benefits for human well-being, livelihoods, as well as for climate change mitigation and adaptation actions, will be explicitly sought whenever possible.
