SSC Experts at UNGA78 Science Summit
We invite you to participate in the upcoming Science Summit during the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78) from September 12 to 29. This summit will bring together esteemed global thought leaders, accomplished scientists, and innovative thinkers to deliberate on the pivotal role of science in realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 Africa's First Center for Species Survival
We have partnered with the A.P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute (APLORI) to establish the Center for Species Survival (CSS) in Nigeria's Amurum Forest Reserve. This collaboration aims to bolster species conservation efforts in the country and West Africa by advancing regional knowledge, offering training opportunities, and fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.

ASSESS
Assessment on Invasive Alien Species
Experts from our Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG) helped inform an Assessment Report on Invasive Alien Species and their Control presented during the tenth plenary of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES10) in Bonn, Germany. This contributed to assessing the risk from 37,000 alien species, with over 3,500 categorized as Invasive Alien Species

 Introducing the sRedList platform for rapid and effective Red List assessments
The sRedList working group is happy to announce the release of the sRedList platform on the 24th of October! This tool will support assessors in calculating and informing key assessment parameters. The objective is to streamline the assessment procedure while providing easy-access to scientific data and methods to best inform your assessments and reassessments. Freshwater Fish Conservation in Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia is home to 30% of the global freshwater fish species, but they're at risk. Discover the strategic framework for action designed by the Asian Species Action Partnership, Shoal, and Mandai Nature. This framework aims to accelerate the urgent conservation efforts required to safeguard the future of 90 Critically Endangered freshwater fish species.

IUCN’s Tiger Programme
The Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP) has launched its new Call for Concept Notes. For the first time, leopards and clouded leopards are eligible for €10.7 million in funding, advancing the global conservation of these highly threatened big cats.
