#NatureForAll seeks to support local traditions, festivals, art and culture in order to contribute to the establishment of a global movement for nature that is intergenerational and intersectoral and encompasses all geographic areas. Here is the latest from #NatureForAll.

The Youth Forum, celebrated at the Asia Parks Congress in Sabah, Malaysia, was a lively event and included a strong presence from IUCN CEC and IUCN WCPA under our joint project #NatureForAll. The Youth Forum harbored a #NatureForAll workshop, where young people brought their enthusiasm, passion, and curiosity to learn about storytelling and how to share our love for nature. Last April #NatureForAll launched the Storytelling Festival, focused on creating, sharing and promoting inspiring stories about connecting with and conserving nature. Share your story, create a new event and promote this initiative among your networks. Details are available here.

From 9-12 May the 'Inside Out' International Conference organized by the Children & Nature Network was held in Atlanta, USA. The #NatureForAll Co-chairs from USA Heather Kuhlken and Laís Fleury and the CEC Regional Vice Chair for South America Luis Camargo led the presentation "Creating a World Inspired By #NatureForAll”. The session had 600 participants in person and more than 100 online. Read more about 'Inside Out' here.

On 10 April the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies launched the publication 'Engaging Communities for Biodiversity Conservation: Education for Sustainable Development'. This document was supported by the CEC through its Nature Education for Sustainability working group. You can download the publication here.

IUCN Director General Bruno Oberle announced the completion of the first-ever IUCN Youth Strategy as part of his report to Council at the 108th IUCN Council Meeting that took place in Gland, Switzerland on 18-19 May 2022. The strategy delivers on a commitment made during the IUCN Global Youth Summit at the World Conservation Congress in Marseille, France to strengthen the inclusion and empowerment of young people in all parts and at all levels of the Union. Reimagine Conservation seeks to generate spaces to "listen, debate, imagine and act". In line with this goal, the event "Developing effective Indigenous and non-Indigenous partnerships for healthy Country" will be held in Brisbane, Australia. This space aims to take a cross-sectoral collective approach to creating effective partnerships for land and sea management for shared environmental and cultural outcomes, and to effect change by bringing together leaders of the many conversations and initiatives underway across Australia, to share examples and catalyse action and awareness from a collective voice. The IUCN Africa Protected Areas Congress will take place 18-23 July 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda. This Congress is the first ever continent-wide gathering of African leaders, citizens, and interest groups to discuss the role of protected areas in conserving nature, safeguarding Africa’s iconic wildlife, delivering vital life-supporting ecosystem services, promoting sustainable development while conserving Africa’s cultural heritage and traditions. IUCN CEC and IUCN WCPA will co-host the #NatureForAll pavilion. Find out more about this event here.

A new call for proposals for the Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments (RISE) grants challenge is now open for applications. Hosted by IUCN and USAID under their partnership on Advancing Gender in the Environment (AGENT) and its Gender-based Violence and Environment Linkages Center (GBV-ENV Center), RISE aims to support evidence-based strategies to address GBV in environment and climate-related programming. Join this webinar held in partnership with CEC to learn more about this round of RISE funding and eligibility requirements and to receive detailed guidance on how to apply for grants. Discover the story of the first Ecological book of the First Ecological State of the World: Montenegro. This ecological story, shared by CEC member Alexandra Aubertin promotes the fight for a cleaner planet in an imaginative work intertwined with the exciting adventures of a girl named Tara who befriended a Magic Tree and prompts us to think: “Are we cutting the branch we are sitting on?” Find this beautiful story here.

This resource addresses the meaning, importance, use and implications of different types of energy. Focusing on renewable energy sources, specifically wind energy, the publication aims to develop students' creativity, engineering design and environmental skills. The Andean cat lives in the highlands of Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Argentina. It is considered one of the most elusive and unknown feline species on the planet and is categorized as an endangered species.
